Required officer training
Per Article VI, Section 1.d of the European PTA Bylaws, all Local Unit Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries, and Treasurers must submit proof of training for their board positions to European PTA within 30 days of the start of the school year via at least ONE of the following training options:
TRAINING OPTION 1: Attend the relevant training course for your officer position at a live EPTA event like Convention or Fall Training.
TRAINING OPTION 2: Complete the National PTA eLearning course listed for your board position:
TRAINING OPTION 3: Complete the relevant European PTA eLearning course for your board position.
We also strongly recommend that all EPTA Local Unit officers, but particularly Presidents and Vice Presidents, take the European PTA eLearning courses for Bylaws and Private Organizations 101 and Membership 101.

- Treasurers must complete Local PTA Treasurer (PLEASE NOTE that all IRS information in these eLearning courses should be disregarded, as it is not relevant to our situation as PTAs in Europe, per IRS directive). We also recommend that you take the following courses:
TRAINING OPTION 3: Complete the relevant European PTA eLearning course for your board position.
We also strongly recommend that all EPTA Local Unit officers, but particularly Presidents and Vice Presidents, take the European PTA eLearning courses for Bylaws and Private Organizations 101 and Membership 101.
OTHER TRAINING INFORMATION:
- To receive credit for completion of the officer training requirement via eLearning, please upload a copy of the certificate that you receive upon completion of the course to your Local Unit's Unit In Good Standing hub in MemberHub (it can be a screen shot, a phone picture of your screen, a picture or scan of the printed certificate, a PDF, etc. - any image of the certificate will do).
- To receive credit for completion of the officer training requirement by attending Fall Training or Convention, please email [email protected] with your name, Local Unit name, your officer position, and when you attended training. We can then check the registration from the event that you attended to confirm that you were there to attend the course.
- While only your officers are required to complete and show proof of training, we do strongly encourage your other board members to attend a training event like Fall Training and Convention or explore the many eLearning courses that are available from National PTA. There is a lot of great information available out there, and we want to be sure that you are set up for success this year! We also strongly encourage all Local Unit board members to take National PTA's Using Parliamentary Procedures for Effective Meetings eLearning course to learn how rules of conduct positively affect PTA decision-making, while ensuring fair and orderly unit operations.
