Welcome to EPTA's Virtual Connections program!​

​Many parents and students across Europe will enter new territory this school year as they opt to either attend virtual school or homeschool due to COVID-19 rather than returning to their local brick and mortar schools.

​To help ease these transitions and to provide opportunities for engagement and enrichment, European PTA has created the Virtual Connections program to offer a variety of fun and educational PTA programs, resources, and activities for DoDEA-Europe eligible virtual students, homeschooled students, and their families via the ECAPTS Statewide PTA, including:

​

• Weekly art, STEM, writing, and physical fitness prompts to allow students to participate in fun, low impact activities as their time and schedules permit

• STEAM workshops and activities for students and parents, including our first annual Cooking with STEAM healthy recipe contest this February

 

• Art workshops and tutorials

​

• Fun virtual events like BINGO and Talent Show

 

• Online Story Hours for our younger students (or the young at heart!)

 

• Quarterly book discussion clubs for grades 2-12

 

• The National PTA Reflections Program (ECAPTS Statewide PTA membership required)

​

• The Scripps National Spelling Bee (ECAPTS Statewide PTA membership required)

 

• The European PTA Scholarship Program (ECAPTS Statewide PTA membership required)

 

• Parent workshops on topics like health and wellness, digital safety, and learning in the virtual environment to help you support your students

​

• The Virtual Parent Connection Facebook group, which will provide a place for parents to network, share information, and receive updates on upcoming Virtual Connections programs and events

We need Your help!

​There are so many opportunities that we would like to provide via the Virtual Connections program in the coming year, but we only have so many EPTA volunteers to run them.  To really branch out and provide an even wider variety of programming options, we will need some help from volunteers like you! 

If you'd be willing to donate your talents in the areas of art, literacy, music, foreign language, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), health and wellness, digital safety or entertainment in the coming year by providing a live or pre-recorded lesson, activity, performance, or webinar for the Virtual Connections program, please complete the Virtual Connections Volunteer Survey or contact Kris Garst at [email protected].
